ISTRC 18th Triennial Symposium

A session at the ISTRC Symposium is proposed for all stakeholders in RTB value chains to share the research questions that are hampering their work. A Research Questions Bank (RQB) can come out that then becomes a live resource for all stakeholders to benefit from. Researchers get to know what practical problems are being faced by the development project implementors and collaborators who are taking their research output to the masses – both, smallholder farmers and the consumers. University students, early career researchers and their guides will find the RQB a rich resource as they plan their research projects. Targeted research will provide the needed answers for the development delivery-oriented project members, enhancing their ability to create impactful, sustainable changes on the ground. This win-win-win exercise can take us all closer to our shared mission of the Next Agri-Food Revolution. RTB research will become more demand driven, more justifiable to the donor community and more useful to all.

A panel discussion on “How to foster more demand driven research and innovations in RTB crops?” is being organised during the 18th ISTRC Symposium in Cali, Columbia. Researchers, students, development project leads, NGOs, university faculty members, policy makers and thinkers are invited to build this mutually beneficial feedback loop that has the potential to benefit the entire value chain.
